Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis? Do you have the skills to provide tailored support to help children achieve their full potential? If so, Veritas Education is looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Kirklees.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring their individual learning and social development needs are met.
Assist the classroom teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
Implement tailored strategies and interventions to support the child's learning, behaviour, and emotional development.
Help the child to engage with classroom activities, promoting independence and positive self-esteem.
Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child, acting as a role model and mentor.
Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and parents to ensure effective communication and progression.
Maintain accurate records of the child's progress and development.Requirements:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably working with children with SEN.
A good understanding of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or learning difficulties.
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are desirable but not essential.
A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.What We Offer:
