Job Description
Do you have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are looking for a caring and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Chelmsford this September.
You’ll be working closely with a pupil who has ASD/ADHD, supporting their learning, confidence, and daily routines to help them thrive in the classroom.
What will your day look like?
⭐ Providing tailored 1:1 support inside and outside the classroom
⭐ Helping the pupil to engage with activities and build their independence
⭐ Using strategies set by the SENCO and class teacher to support learning and behaviour
⭐ Encouraging positive social interaction with peers
⭐ Delivering targeted interventions when needed
⭐ Being their biggest cheerleader – celebrating their achievements, big or small!
What we’re looking for:
✔️ Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally ASD/ADHD
✔️ A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach
✔️ Strong communication skills with pupils, staff, and parents
✔️ A proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to the child’s needs
✔️ Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
