About the role/school
We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and diverse primary school in Finchley. As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a child to access the curriculum, encouraging independence, and helping them succeed both academically and socially.
Job Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 tailored support to a pupil with additional needs, ensuring inclusion in classroom learning.
Assist the class teacher in planning and adapting resources for individual learning needs.
Encourage positive behaviour through patience, consistency, and clear strategies.
Support the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development.
Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to track progress and implement strategies.
Uphold safeguarding policies and promote a safe, nurturing environment.
Qualifications/Experience
Previous experience as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role desirable.
Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.
Right to work in the UK.
Strong communication skills and a patient, resilient approach.
