The school is looking for a candidate who can start as soon as possible and bring a caring, flexible, and proactive approach to support a child with specific needs as outlined in their EHCP. You'll work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to help the child access learning in a way that suits them best. 🔍 The Role Will Involve: - Providing 1:1 classroom support for a child with additional learning and behavioural needs. - Adapting learning activities to ensure they are accessible, engaging, and aligned with the pupil's personal learning goals. - Delivering individual and small group interventions where appropriate. - Supporting the child's emotional, social, and communication development. - Liaising with teaching staff, SENCO, and external specialists to implement consistent support strategies. - Building strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers to ensure consistent support between home and school. ✅ We're Looking for Someone Who: - Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). - Has previous experience working with children with additional or neurodiverse needs (e.g. ASD, speech and language, SEMH). - Understands how to adapt learning approaches to suit individual needs. - Can work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Is patient, empathetic, and resilient in the face of day-to-day challenges. - Ideally has additional training in communication and interaction strategies (desirable but not essential). Interested? If you're passionate about supporting children with additional needs and are looking for a long-term role where you can make a real difference, we'd love to speak with you.
