Job Description
About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to meet the specific needs of an individual pupil. You'll help implement learning strategies, encourage independence, and support both academic and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs.
Assist in delivering personalised learning activities and interventions.
Support the pupil in developing communication, social, and emotional skills.
Encourage engagement and participation in classroom activities.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements:
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience supporting pupils with SEN, ideally in a school environment.
Knowledge of strategies to support children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
