Job Description
1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School Location: Preston, Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term (term time only)
Tempest Resourcing are supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Preston who are seeking a caring and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional learning needs on a full-time basis.
About the role:
Provide 1:1 classroom support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they feel engaged, confident, and supported in lessons.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to deliver tailored learning strategies and interventions.
Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development throughout the school day.
Help manage behaviour in a positive and encouraging way.
Record progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents.
About you:
Previous experience supporting children in a primary school or SEN setting.
A calm, nurturing, and patient approach, with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
Good understanding of SEN strategies and the ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or similar) is desirable but not essentialBefore You Apply
