Full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Poole Start Date: September 2025 | Contract Type: Full-Time Are you a resilient and nurturing individual with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education are seeking a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Poole from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting difference in the life of a child with SEMH needs by providing dedicated one-to-one support throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will have specific experience working in a school setting, supporting pupils with SEMH. Interviews are being arranged immediately to ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year. Responsibilities of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA): Offer consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH, helping them regulate emotions and engage with learning Build a strong, trusting relationship with the child to provide emotional security and academic encouragement Implement behaviour support strategies in line with the school's approach Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCo to personalise support and review progress Promote a safe, calm, and structured learning environment throughout the school day Requirements for 1:1 Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children who have SEMH in a school setting CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is desirable but not essential. A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling or a similar field is desirable but not essential.
