Job Description
A warm and inclusive primary school in London is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s education and emotional development.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language, SEMH)
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies
Support the pupil both academically and emotionally throughout the school day
Adapt tasks and materials to ensure accessibility and engagement
Track and report on progress and behaviour, contributing to EHCP reviews and planning
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting
Knowledge of strategies to support learning, behaviour, and communication
Patient, empathetic, and consistent approach to working with children
Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or relevant qualification desirable
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
