1st Line IT Support Technician
Location: Office based in Coatbridge, ML5 4EY. Occasional site visits when required,
Salary: £25,500 per annum + benefits
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Benefits: 32 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays, Pension scheme, Free car park

Job Role:
We are looking for a proactive and customer focused 1st Line IT Support Technician to join our growing IT team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for technology and a desire to provide high quality technical support to customers.
As the first point of contact for IT related issues, you will play a key role in delivering technical assistance, resolving issues, and ensuring smooth day to day operations of all IT systems.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide first line support for hardware, software, and network-related issues via phone and ticketing system.
• Perform troubleshooting on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral equipment.
• Support users with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Utilise remote desktop tools to assist users with offsite or remote support needs.
• Log, track, and resolve incidents and service requests using the IT ticketing system.
• Escalate unresolved issues to 2nd/3rd line support when necessary.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up hardware and accounts.
• Contribute to IT documentation and knowledge base development.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
• Good understanding of Windows 10/11 operating systems.
• Familiarity with Office 365 and common desktop applications.
• Basic understanding of network concepts such as DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing.
• Proficient in using remote support tools.
• Experience with IT ticketing systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Logical problem solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise support tickets.
Desirable:
• Exposure to MacOS
• Android & IOS experience
• Basic knowledge of PowerShell scripting or automation.
• Understanding of cloud technologies.
