We are working in partnership with a leading specialist contractor within the roofing, cladding, and façade sector to recruit an experienced
2D BIM / AutoCAD Designer
.
With a strong pipeline of projects and continued growth across the UK, this is a key hire for the business. They are actively reviewing candidates and can move quickly for the right individual.
The Role
This is a hands-on design position where you will take ownership of producing high-quality construction drawings and coordinating design information across multiple live projects.
You will play a key role in ensuring designs are delivered on time, compliant, and aligned with both client expectations and project requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings and construction details to a high standard
Managing and developing design proposals through to approval
Coordinating design information across multiple projects
Reviewing architectural intent and developing practical construction solutions
Coordinating subcontractor and specialist design inputs to resolve clashes
Ensuring compliance with building regulations and industry standards
Preparing and maintaining design documentation in line with ISO9001
Attending and leading design meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Supporting project teams with technical input throughout the design and construction phases
Preparing site reports and supporting design reviews
About You
We’re looking for a mid-level designer with strong technical capability and industry experience, comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
You will ideally have:
5+ years’ experience in roofing, cladding, or façade design
Strong AutoCAD (2D) capability
Experience in hard metal roofing and/or flat roofing and cladding systems
Good understanding of construction principles and detailing
Knowledge of UK Building Regulations (including Part B) and NHBC standards
Experience coordinating multiple design packages and resolving clashes
Strong organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both technical and client-facing
High attention to detail and quality
Desirable:
Construction/design-related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
Familiarity with document control systems (e.g. Aconex, 4Projects)
Membership of a relevant professional body
Key Requirements
Full-time office-based role (8:00am – 5:00pm) in Waltham Abbey
Must hold a full UK driving licence
