Job Description

Main job:
Operate a 360° tracked excavator (digger) to dig, demolish, and move materials on construction, quarrying, or groundworks sites.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operate excavator: Dig trenches, foundations, level ground, load lorries
2. Attachments: Swap buckets, breakers, grabs as needed
3. Safety checks: Pre-start checks, watch for hazards, keep people clear
4. Site tasks: Demolition, ground prep, material handling
5. Compliance: Follow site rules, PUWER, banksman signals
6. Efficiency: Meet targets, minimise damage to surfaces

Requirements – UK 2026
- Quals: CPCS or NPORS card for 360 excavators (A2 or equiv)
- Experience: 2-5 years operating 360s
- Tickets: CSCS card, SMSTS if managing others
- Skills: Spatial awareness, smooth controls

Typical Day
- AM: Checks, plan jobs
- Work: Dig, break, load
- End: Park safely, report faults
