IT 3rd Line Support Engineer - £35,000/£38,000 - Hull
Principal IT are proud to be supporting an MSP in Hull who provide IT services and digital support to health care providers that are looking for an IT 3rd line engineer to join their team. In this role you will play a vital part in supporting their future strategy. They are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves troubleshooting, and has a passion for IT that extends beyond the screen.
You will provide a range of 2nd & 3rd line technical support services for the organisations server and network infrastructure, including hardware and software support, development & implementation for systems, servers, storage, security and virtualisation and will also have experience of supporting network infrastructure and wireless connectivity in a large corporate setting.
As this role is both technical and operational you will support the day-to-day running of the IT Servers and Networks to agreed service levels and installation of new hardware and systems when required with participation as a project team member and in some cases project lead for ongoing technical support improvements to the organisations infrastructure.
The 3rd Line Engineer role will be part of a rota covering the service operating hours of 07:30 to 18:30 Monday to Friday over a 37.5 hour working week. The role will also include the need for on-call third line duties on a rota.

Essential
VLAN implementation/management
Desktop Imaging and deployment
Detailed knowledge of hardware and software in a corporate IT environment
VMWare administration in a large corporate environment
Large scale multi-site wireless deployment
Firewall management
Ability to analyse complex issues
VOIP telephony system management
Patch Management
Backup Configuration
At least 2 years exposure to large corporate computing environments, including networking
At least 3 years experience of providing field or desk based support to IT users, in an environment of mixed Windows Operating SystemsDesirable
At least 3 years exposure to large corporate networks
At least 3 years experience in directly working with Servers
Relevant IT degree or equivalent qualifications, training or experience
Vendor qualification (e.g. VCP, MCP, WatchGuard, Aruba, CCNA)
Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures
SQL Server and Database Management
IIS and IAS
NHSmail

If successful our client is offering a salary between £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, favourable holiday allowance, company contributed pension scheme, development opportunities, plus many more.
