Apply today to work as a Abattoir Hygiene Operative for our client, a pork-processing and abattoir site. 
 
Staffline is recruting Abattoir Hygiene Operatives in Westerleigh, Bristol. 
 
The rate of pay is £13.09 per hour. 
 
Overtime is available and is paid at £19.64 per hour. 
 
This is a full-time role working fixed shifts and the hours of work are: 
- 9am to 5:30pm 
 
Your Time at Work
 
As a Abattoir Hygiene Operative you will be responsible for: 
 
Cleaning production machinery 
- Sanitising slaughtering and processing equipment after use. 
- Removing animal by-products, blood, fat, and other waste materials from machinery. 
 
Washing down work areas 
- Cleaning floors, walls, drains, conveyor belts, and workstations. 
- Using pressure washers, foaming systems, and approved cleaning chemicals. 
 
Following hygiene and food safety procedures 
- Working to strict food safety regulations and site hygiene standards. 
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs). 
 
Chemical handling 
- Safely using cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH requirements. 
- Wearing and maintaining appropriate PPE. 
 
Waste removal 
- Collecting and disposing of waste products correctly. 
- Ensuring waste areas remain clean and organised. 
 
Please note, there will be large amounts of manual handling (up to 25kg).

- Working consistently in a demanding food production environment. 
- Following safety and hygiene rules at all times. 
 
Teamwork 
- Working effectively with hygiene and production staff. 
- Communicating issues quickly. 
- Helping ensure production areas are ready for the next shift.
