Teach Now is working with a thriving secondary school in Enfield that is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and nurturing Academic Mentor to join their dedicated team immediately. This full-time, temporary role is ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates, or experienced support staff looking to make a tangible impact in a diverse and energetic school setting.
As an Academic Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students across Key Stages 3 to 5, providing targeted academic support and mentoring to boost confidence, progress, and achievement. Whether it’s assisting in the classroom, running small group interventions, or offering one-to-one academic coaching, you’ll be at the heart of student development.
What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting students with core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science
• Delivering tailored academic mentoring sessions to raise attainment
• Working alongside teachers and SEN staff to meet individual learning needs
• Encouraging and motivating students to take ownership of their learning
• Helping to close learning gaps and boost pupil confidence
Who we’re looking for:
• A confident, enthusiastic, and compassionate individual
• Previous experience working with secondary students or young people (school, tuition, youth work or mentoring)
• Strong academic background – ideally educated to degree level
• A calm and supportive presence with a passion for education
• Someone considering teacher training or a long-term career in schools
