Academic Support Assistant – North Tyneside
Milk Education is proud to be working alongside a warm and welcoming primary school in North Tyneside, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Academic Support Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in the classroom.
About the Role:
You’ll be working closely with class teachers to support pupils across various year groups, offering both group and 1:1 support to help pupils thrive academically and emotionally. Whether assisting with phonics, maths, or social skills development, your role will be key in helping pupils reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will:
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils across a range of abilities
* Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
* Support pupils’ emotional and social development through positive relationships
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children in a school or educational setting (paid or voluntary)
* A positive, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A passion for helping pupils succeed – academically, socially, and emotionally
* A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Milk Education)
