Job Description

Account Manager Location: Epsom, Surrey (hybrid after probation) Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm Salary: OTE £55,000 (base + commission/bonus) Who they Are They are innovative software company based in Epsom, Surrey. They have been delivering complex digital solutions to public and private sector organisations across the UK. The flagship product is a trusted communications and engagement platform used by local councils, NHS trusts and central government departments — helping teams inform and engage citizens, promote initiatives and share policy updates in a secure, accessible and impactful way. They are proud to be part of the G-Cloud and Digital Outcomes & Specialists frameworks, supporting the UK public sector's digital transformation journey. Recognised as one of the fastest growing tech suppliers to the public sector, we have built a fantastic portfolio of central and local government and NHS customers — and they are looking for the right person to help us take that further. The Role This is not a role for someone who waits to be told what to do. they are looking for an Account Manager who takes full ownership of their portfolio — someone who is meticulous, commercially minded, and genuinely invested in the success of their clients and the business. You will manage a portfolio of customers, primarily in the public sector, building deep relationships, driving platform adoption and identifying every opportunity to grow and strengthen those accounts. You will be the first person to spot a renewal on the horizon, the one who has already started the conversation before anyone else has noticed it is due. You will understand the procurement landscape your clients operate within, plan ahead to navigate it, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks. Where there is an opportunity to upsell or introduce a client to a feature or service that genuinely adds value, you will take it — not because you have been asked to, but because you understand the platform, you know your clients, and you can see the fit. Experience working with public sector clients is a strong advantage given the nature of the portfolio, and a good understanding of public sector procurement processes will help you hit the ground running. What You Will Be Doing As the main point of contact for your assigned customers, you will manage the full relationship across every stage of the contract lifecycle. That means understanding each client's goals, challenges and priorities, identifying the needs of different stakeholders within their organisations, and ensuring they are always getting the most out of our platform. You will build the kind of trusted relationships where clients come to you first — and where your knowledge of their organisation means you can anticipate their needs before they articulate them. On the commercial side, you will take ownership of renewals from start to finish. You will plan ahead, manage timelines proactively, and work within public sector procurement frameworks to ensure deals are progressed and completed without unnecessary delay. You will actively look for opportunities to upsell relevant features, services or expanded usage, contributing to revenue growth through your client knowledge and the quality of your engagement rather than through pressure or box-ticking. You will gather and interpret client requirements to propose tailored solutions, provide clear guidance on the effective use of our products, and deliver training and onboarding sessions that genuinely support adoption. When issues arise, you will coordinate with internal teams to resolve them quickly and effectively, keeping clients informed and confident throughout. You will also support the preparation of responses to pre-qualification questionnaires and tender invitations, drawing on your understanding of the clients and the platform to contribute meaningful, well-informed content. Throughout everything, you will represent us in a professional, credible and approachable manner, upholding the highest standards of integrity in every client interaction. What they are Looking For You are proactive, organised and commercially sharp. You take ownership instinctively — not because it is in your job description, but because that is how you work. You are meticulous when it comes to renewals and contract management, with a natural ability to plan ahead and stay on top of timelines without needing to be chased. You understand how public sector procurement works and you know how to work with it, not against it. You are a strong communicator who builds genuine relationships, and you have the confidence and knowledge to upsell in a way that feels natural and client-centric rather than pushy. You are comfortable working across a varied portfolio, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and you thrive in an environment where you are trusted to get on with things and make good decisions. Experience in a similar account management role, ideally working with public sector clients, is important. Familiarity with SaaS or digital platforms is a plus. Career Progression You will work closely alongside our Account Director, with real potential to move into senior or strategic roles as the business continues to grow. There are genuine opportunities to influence product development, shape customer strategy and contribute to innovation projects — this is a company where good people are noticed and invested in. Benefits We offer a competitive benefits package including an OTE of £55,000 (base salary plus commission and bonus), private health insurance after your first year, a company pension scheme, and a friendly and supportive team culture with real room to grow. After a six-month probation period, flexible hybrid working is available. Our Epsom office is just a five-minute walk from the train station, making the commute straightforward
