Job Description
We are recruiting for a talented Accountant to join a long-established family run business, based on the outskirts of Maidenhead, in a stand-alone accounting role. The role would be ideal for an accounting professional who has worked within an engineering, manufacturing or servicing environment, although this isn’t essential.
This is a full time, office-based role that will manage the accounts department, supporting the continued success of the business.
The firm offers a discretionary profit related bonus, dependent on company results, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a friendly, very supportive work environment, that is reflected in the very low staff turnover.
As Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
* All aspects of bookkeeping using Sage
* Production of monthly management accounts
* Producing VAT returns
* In-house payroll production for a small team
* Employee expenses
* Production of daily cash reports
* Year-end accounts production
* Liaising with auditors
* Consolidation of group accounts
* General finance duties as required
* Liaising with suppliers
* Credit control
* Dealing with utilities, insurances, company contracts and other administrative duties
* Liaising with the management team to ensure the smooth functioning of the business

* Demonstrable accounts and finance experience gained within a similar role
* Formal qualification isn’t essential for this role; however, you will be qualified by experience
* Be able to work independently and also comfortable in a collaborative team environment
* Have good general IT skills and accounting software experience – Sage would be ideal
* Excellent communication skills
