Job Description

Accounts Administrator Location: Bedford Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm Full-time, Permanent Siamo Recruitment are recruiting for a client that is a leading independent distributor of automotive and industrial components. With branches across Bedfordshire and surrounding areas, their reputation is built on expertise, reliability, and long-standing customer relationships. They are now seeking an experienced Accounts Administrator to join a small finance team in Bedford. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to contribute to the smooth operation of the accounts department within a respected, family-run organisation. Key Responsibilities for the role: Maintain and manage the sales ledger, ensuring all customer accounts are accurate and up to date.  Set up new customer accounts. Carry out credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding debt, contacting customers, and ensuring timely payments in line with company terms. Liaise daily with branch and sales managers to resolve account queries and ensure cash sales are processed correctly. Monthly ledgers closing, including reporting and issuing statements. Post/process payments from customers. Balance tills from 5 branches daily. Respond promptly to customer queries to prevent payment delays and maintain positive relationships. Support the finance team with month-end and ad hoc accounting duties, meeting key deadlines.  What we are looking for: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales ledger, accounts receivable, or credit control role (preferred). Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail. Confident communicator, capable of maintaining professional relationships with both customers and colleagues. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software. Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a small finance team.  What's on Offer Competitive salary dependent on experience.
