This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for autonomy and variety within a hands-on finance role. You will take full ownership of the end-to-end purchase ledger process, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider business to ensure smooth running of the daily finance operations.
Location: Altrincham
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 DOE
Key Responsibilities
End-to-end management of the purchase ledger function
Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
Preparing and processing weekly payment runs
Allocating cash receipts and reconciling bank accounts
Maintenance of debtor’s ledger and assisting with credit control
Supporting with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Assisting the Finance Manager with month-end tasks and ad hoc finance support
Continuous process improvement within the finance function
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment. You will have:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant role
Strong working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident communication style and ability to work with suppliers and internal teams
A proactive approach with the ability to manage your own workload
Must be within a commutable distance of Altrincham (on-site role)
