Job Description
A well-established and reputable business based in Thirsk is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their accounting career. As the Accounts Assistant, your role will include (but not be limited to):
Preparing weekly timesheets for KPI reporting and monthly payroll.
Performing daily reconciliations and reporting of purchase orders to ensure accurate supplier payments.
Managing monthly statements and proactive credit control to maintain healthy cash flow.
Assisting with processing invoices, payments, and expense reports efficiently.
Supporting account reconciliations using systems such as Sage 50, Ranger & Bright HR, ensuring accurate payroll, purchase ledger, and credit control data.
Preparing financial reports and analyses to aid business decision-making.
Collaborating effectively with colleagues across departments to resolve discrepancies and provide financial clarity.
To be successful in this Accounts Assistant role, you should ideally have:
At least 1 year of payroll experience and experience in an accounting support role.
Familiarity with financial systems such as Sage 50, Xero, or QuickBooks.
Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills for accurate data entry and analysis.
A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills to convey financial information clearly across teams.
A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
