Job Description

This Accounts - Assistant position in Swindon requires a dedicated individual to support the accounting and finance functions within the professional services industry. The role involves assisting with financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.

Description

Prepare year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies from both balanced systems and incomplete records
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Support clients with accounting software (EG, QuickbooksXero, Sage)
Support the accounts payable and receivable processes.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with regulations.
Complete corporate tax, personal tax and partnership tax returns accurately and on time
Prepare and review VAT returns and advise on VAT matters when needed
Provide support during audits and financial reviews.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Collaborate with the wider accounting team to improve processes.
Respond to financial queries from internal and external stakeholders.Profile

A successful Accounts - Assistant should have:

AAT Qualified or ACA/ACCA part qualified with at least 2 years of practice experience
A background in accounting or finance, preferably within the professional services industry.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
