Accounts Assistant
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 DOE
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

About the Role
An excellent opportunity has become available for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing and supportive business. This is a varied role within a busy finance team, offering exposure to a wide range of accounting duties and day-to-day financial operations.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and looking to further develop their career in finance.

Key Responsibilities

  * Process financial transactions accurately, including invoices and payments

  * Support both purchase and sales ledger activities

  * Reconcile accounts and investigate any discrepancies

  * Assist with supplier and customer queries

  * Help prepare and process payments

  * Support month-end processes and reporting

  * Maintain accurate financial records in line with company procedures

  * Provide general administrative support to the finance team

  * Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations

About You

  * Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role

  * Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  * Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively

  * Confident communicator, both written and verbal

  * Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  * Experience using accounting software or ERP systems

  * A proactive and flexible approach with a willingness to learn

  * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
