This Accounts Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced retail environment. The position is based in Bedford and focuses on providing vital support to the Accounting & Finance department.

Description
Accounts Assistant:
Maintain accurate financial records and assist in the preparation of management accounts
Process purchase and sales invoices, ensuring timely and accurate data entry
Perform daily bank reconciliations and manage petty cash
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements
Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding issues
Monitor stock control data and liaise with the operations team regarding variances
Support payroll processing and employee expense claims
Maintain financial filing systems and support audit preparation
Ad hoc duties to support the finance team and wider business functionsProfile
A successful Accounts Assistant should have:
AAT Studier or relevant experience
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
The ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
