We are recruiting on behalf of a respected property management and lettings business based in Ripponden, Halifax. The company is known for its commitment to delivering exceptional service, financial accuracy, and regulatory compliance across its portfolio. With a close-knit and professional working environment, they are looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of a skilled Accounts Assistant.
The Role
This is a pivotal finance role supporting the client accounting function within a busy lettings environment. The successful candidate will work closely with property managers and senior stakeholders to ensure the accurate handling of rents, deposits, and financial records.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile client accounts within the lettings portfolio.
*
Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of rents and deposits, in line with client accounting standards and statutory regulations.
*
Assist in preparing and monitoring annual budgets and midyear reforecasts.
*
Produce financial statements, cashflow reports, and variance analysis for stakeholders.
*
Accurately process invoices, receipts, and payments.
*
Prepare and post accruals and prepayments during period-end.
*
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely reconciliations.
*
Support year-end accounts preparation and audit processes.
*
Liaise with property managers, clients, and auditors to ensure transparency and compliance.
*
Work with multiple accounting and property management software systems, along with Excel, to analyse financial data.
*
Provide administrative support, including answering phones, filing, and general office tasks as required.
Candidate Requirements
*
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
*
Experience with client accounting in a property or lettings context is advantageous.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software platforms.
*
Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
*
Well-organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.
*
Clear and professional communication skills.
*
Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and adapt.
