We're on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a fantastic team in Northampton. 🎯 Key Responsibilities
Answer emails and phone calls in a timely manner, ensuring accurate data entry and distribution of information
Communicate with customers to an exceptional standard, consistently exceeding expectations through proactive engagement and dedicated support
Process vendor invoices and ensure all billing in raised in line with the company's requirements
Prepare and communicate monthly figures to customers and buying groups via the sales team
Support month-end processes including reconciliations and journal entries (bank, stock, accruals, prepayments)
Maintain and update pricing files within SAP and manage credit control processes using iController
Handle customer complaints within agreed timeframes, manage insurance claim payments and notify relevant parties of complaints received from retailers
Ensure full compliance with HMRC and Customs regulations, including timely reporting
Collaborate closely with the Manager to prioritise workload and maintain/update internal procedures, policies, and customer sales documentation
Assist the sales team with sample requests, stock monitoring, pallet unloading, and exhibition preparation
Manage office supplies (stationery, cleaning products, etc.) to maintain a productive work environment
Keep an up-to-date log of company renewables (e.g. car plans, insurance, compliance testing)
Perform General Ledger accounting and month-end close activities
Track and report on transport costs as required
Update and monitor Customer Trading Agreements in line with agreed targets
Review and maintain forecast files, highlighting variances as they arise
Monitor packaging usage and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
Carry out any other ad hoc duties as required🔍 What We're Looking For
Whilst this role has a strong finance focus, - you'll be joining a very small, close-knit team, so flexibility and a team-oriented mindset are essential.
We're looking for a team player who's not only skilled in accounts but also eager to get involved in other areas of the business and support colleagues.
