Our respected housing authority client is seeking an Accounts Officer to play a key role in supporting the efficient recovery of rent arrears and other housing-related debts, ensuring swift, effective, and customer-focused debt recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in applying appropriate debt recovery procedures where non-payment occurs.
Provide progress updates on legal proceedings to relevant staff.
Investigate and follow up on arrears cases, including tenant visits and correspondence.
Support the preparation of legal cases, ensuring compliance with pre-court protocols.
Liaise with solicitors, courts, and enforcement agencies as required.
Deliver high standards of customer service, tailored to individual needs.
Accurately interpret policies and provide guidance to customers and colleagues.
Represent the Income Collection Unit in dealings with internal and external partners.
Help produce data and reports to support performance analysis.
Work collaboratively with other teams and manage your workload independently.
What We're Looking For:
Experience in income collection, arrears recovery or a similar role.
Strong communication, investigation, and organisational skills.
A customer-focused approach with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of debt recovery legislation and procedures is desirable.This onsite role based in Ballymena requiring an urgent start. The role is projected to last until mid December and is paying £13.91 per hour.
The hours of work are 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week).
