Job Overview
Nationwide Vehicle Assistance are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the organisation’s accounting functions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in financial administration within a dynamic and professional environment.
The office hours are Monday- Friday 9am-5pm, office based. Due to the location of the office, you will need to have a full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
Job Description
* Process and verify supplier invoices using accounting software
* Ensure timely payment of invoices in accordance with organisational policies and deadlines
* Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and reconcile supplier statements
* Input data efficiently and accurately into relevant systems, including HRIS and PeopleSoft
* Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
* Support internal departments with queries related to payments and account status
* Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and ensure compliance with company policies
* Perform data entry tasks related to financial transactions and maintain organised files for audit purposes
Experience
* Proven experience working with accounting software
* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and procedures
* Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy levels
* Analytical skills to review invoices, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues efficiently
* Prior experience in a finance or human resources environment is advantageous
* Familiarity with basic analysis techniques to support financial reporting and reconciliation tasks
