Beam Recruit is supporting an impressive, third-generation family business with the appointment of an Accounts Payable Assistant.

This opportunity could suit someone at the beginning of their finance career with around 12 months’ experience, also including a finance graduate or AAT student keen to learn and progress. We are equally interested in hearing from an experienced Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger professional looking for a stable, long-term opportunity within a positive working environment.

The role

As part of a busy and supportive finance team, you will help ensure the purchase ledger runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  * Processing a varied range of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently

  * Checking financial information and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded

  * Supporting regular payment processes

  * Completing account reconciliations and investigating any differences

  * Monitoring outstanding balances and maintaining accurate records

  * Handling queries and building positive relationships with suppliers

  * Working collaboratively with colleagues to resolve issues

  * Following agreed financial procedures and internal controls

  * Providing wider support to the finance team when required

This is a varied role offering the opportunity to take ownership of your work while developing your broader finance experience.

What we’re looking for

We are open-minded about the level of experience you bring. You might be:

  * A finance graduate or AAT student with some practical finance experience

  * An Accounts Assistant with around 12 months’ exposure to purchase ledger

  * An experienced Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger professional looking for stability and a supportive team

What matters most is that you are:

  * Accurate, organised and comfortable working with numbers

  * Confident using Microsoft Excel

  * Able to manage your workload and meet deadlines

  * A clear and professional communicator

  * Comfortable dealing with suppliers and colleagues

  * Proactive when resolving queries

  * Keen to learn and contribute to the wider team

  * Someone who takes pride in getting the detail right
