Job Description
Job Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
* Location: OX18 area and WFH
* Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 pro rata
The Burford Recruitment Company are seeking an Accounts & Tax Assistant for a modern and growing accountancy practice who provide friendly and professional services to a wide range of clients.
This is a practice-based role, and applicants must have prior experience working within an accountancy firm (not solely in industry).
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing year-end accounts for a variety of clients
* Preparing and filing personal and business tax returns
* Preparing VAT returns
* Managing payroll and CIS returns
* Carrying out bookkeeping tasks as required
* Supporting our transition into MTD ITSA compliance
Qualifications and Skills
* AAT qualified (or equivalent)
* Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential
* Ability to independently manage accounts and tax compliance work
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Good understanding of small business needs
* Self-motivated and able to work remotely with minimal supervision
