Job Description

A leading regional law firm are currently looking to recruit an experienced Solicitor to join their Actions Against the Police department in Liverpool. They are a progressive and expanding law firm with a strong reputation for upholding civil liberties and holding public authorities to account. Their civil Actions Against the Police team is growing, and they are looking for a driven and passionate solicitor (or legal executive) to join a supportive team. Job Title: Solicitor – Civil Actions Against the Police (NQ–5 PQE) Location: Liverpool – Hybrid Working Salary: Dependent on experience and PQE Benefits: Hybrid working, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, private medical insurance, employee assistance programme and active social committee Re-train Opportunity We welcome applications from solicitors or legal executives with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in general civil litigation who wish to retrain in this area. The Role You will manage a caseload of civil claims against the police and public bodies. You will be acting for clients in matters such as: * Unlawful arrest and false imprisonment * Human rights breaches * Malicious prosecution * Judicial reviews This is a highly rewarding role for someone with a solid litigation background and a commitment to access to justice.
