We are looking for reliable, caring and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team and work on an ad hoc basis across schools in East London.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and SEND professionals who are looking for flexible weekday work that can fit around their existing commitments.
The Role
As an ad hoc SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support children and young people with a range of special educational needs across primary and secondary settings.
Depending on the school and pupil's needs, your responsibilities may include:
Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and other additional needs.
Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated activities and tailored support.
Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional development.
Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop independence.
Providing support during lessons, break times and other school activities.
Working closely with teachers and other support staff.
Following individual education, behaviour and support plans.
Creating a safe, positive and inclusive environment for pupils.
Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each child.

Experienced in working with children or young people with SEND.

Reliable and able to adapt quickly to different school environments.
Confident supporting pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis.
Calm and resilient when dealing with challenging situations.
Passionate about helping children achieve their potential.
Available to work flexibly during the school week.Experience with ASD, challenging behaviour, complex needs or specialist education settings is desirable, but we also welcome candidates with relevant transferable experience.
