Job Title: Administrative Officer Location: Luton Magistrates' Court Contract Type: Temporary ongoing for 3 months Salary: £12.36 per hour + Pension Scheme & Holiday Pay Hours: Full-time - 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) An exciting opportunity has arisen to join HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), an agency of the Ministry of Justice, through Brook Street. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Administrative Officer to support operations at Luton Magistrates' Court. Key Responsibilities: Provide face-to-face and telephone support to court users. Prepare documents for court hearings, process court orders Handle applications from individuals interested in becoming magistrates. Process court orders and liaise with internal and external parties. Support court clerking duties during hearings. Scan and upload documents to internal databases. Coordinate with judiciary members and other stakeholders. Schedule hearings, issue court documents, and execute a variety of administrative tasks including warrant processing and fine collection (chip & pin involved). This is an office-based role - remote work is not available. Skills & Experience Required: Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written). administrative experience and good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.). Organised, proactive, and able to manage tasks independently. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Previous experience in a legal, court, or government setting is a plus but not essential.
