Advising internal clients on all aspects of Adult Social Care.
* Providing legal advice to the council's Adult Social Care service with a focus on Court of
* Protection work as well as ancillary matters such as ordinary residence; responsibilities under the Care Act 2014; funding disputes; Mental Health Act 1986 queries.
* Drafting court applications to the Court of Protection/High Court/County Court.
* Instructing counsel in relation to any Court proceedings ensuing from the drafted court applications.
* Drafting court orders and liaising with the Court.
* Conducting professional's meetings (both round table and advocate meetings).
* Providing general adult social care and mental health legal advice.
* Such other duties and responsibilities of a similar grade and nature as may be required.
* To monitor changes in legislation and case law affecting the range of matters dealt with within the team and update other team members and clients.
