Job Description

Occupational Therapist | Haringey Council | £39 per hour Rate: £39 per hour (umbrella) | Full-Time (36 hours per week) | Initial 3 months contract Caritas Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join Haringey Council for an initial 3-month contract. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work with a range of individuals, conducting assessments and delivering tailored interventions to promote independence and improve quality of life. The role includes visits, assessments, and the delivery of essential small equipment to service users. As part of this role, you will be responsible for collecting small equipment (e.g. bath boards, toilet frames, commodes) from a Haringey P store, delivering and installing these items, and demonstrating their safe use to service users. While a car driver is preferable for this role, it is not essential, as practitioners can submit taxi expense claims for deliveries. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users' needs and develop person-centred intervention plans to support independence. Deliver therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills, including mobility, self-care, and domestic tasks. Collect and deliver small equipment (e.g., bath boards, toilet frames, commodes) from a Haringey P store and demonstrate how to use it safely. Work with families and carers, providing advice, training, and guidance on supporting service users' rehabilitation. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care and provide ongoing support to service users. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with professional and legal standards. What We're Looking For: A qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) (please include your registration number in your application). Experience in adult social care or rehabilitation settings, especially in completing assessments and providing equipment-based interventions. Ability to assess the needs of service users and design tailored interventions to improve functional independence. Car driver is preferable, though not essential. Taxis for equipment delivery can be reimbursed via expense claims. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. Flexible and proactive, with a passion for delivering high-quality person-centred care.
