Job Description
Position: Advanced Practitioner – Children and Families Team
Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire
As an Advanced Practitioner, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting children and families across Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity for a resilient, driven and skilled social worker who is ready to take the next step in their career.
You will:
* Hold a protected caseload, focusing on children and young people with complex and challenging needs.
* Take the lead on quality assurance, performance improvement, and practice development within the team.
* Promote best practice across the service and contribute to continuous learning.
* Work collaboratively with professionals and partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.
You’ll be seen as a practice leader, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional oversight to team members and newly qualified workers.
What We’re Looking For:
* A qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
* Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s services, ideally working with complex cases.
* A proven ability to lead on practice development and quality assurance.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Commitment to child-centred, strengths-based practice.
Working Environment:
We operate a hybrid working model:
* Office-based work for visits, team duty service, and team-building.
* Remote working to complete administrative tasks.
* All children must be seen face-to-face, unless you are COVID-confirmed.
* You’ll be expected to spend more time in the office initially, to help build team cohesion and provide a stable start.
To support your role, you will be provided with a laptop and smartphone to work flexibly and effectively.
