Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and qualified After-School Tutor to join our team in Barnet. This role is ideal for a fully qualified teacher (QTS) who is looking to make a real difference in a more flexible, small-group or 1:1 setting outside of the traditional classroom.
You will be supporting primary and/or secondary students with homework help, subject-specific tutoring, and targeted intervention - all designed to boost confidence and improve academic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, tailored tutoring sessions for KS1-KS4 students (depending on your expertise)
Assess student needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Support pupils with core subjects (English, Maths, Science)
Provide regular feedback to parents and the tutoring coordinator
Create a positive, motivating learning environment
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
Recent teaching or tutoring experience in the UK curriculum
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, encouraging, and organised approach
