Job Description
Job Title: Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer
Location: Central London
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, with on-call rota (1 weekend in 3)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join our client, providing maintenance, fault-finding, and repair services across a portfolio of commercial sites in Central London. You will be responsible for ensuring systems operate efficiently, safely, and in line with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including VRV/VRF, split systems, chillers, cold rooms, and associated plant.
*
Diagnose and repair breakdowns efficiently, minimising system downtime.
*
Provide technical support and advice to clients and colleagues.
*
Ensure compliance with F-Gas and health & safety requirements.
*
Maintain accurate service records and complete job sheets using company systems.
*
Participate in the on-call rota (1 weekend in 3) and attend emergency callouts when required.
*
Work both independently and as part of a team, covering a variety of client sites across Central London.
Key Requirements
*
Proven experience in air conditioning and refrigeration service/maintenance.
*
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent).
*
F-Gas Category 1 certification.
*
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
Good communication and customer service skills.
*
Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
