Job Description

Air Import Coordinator

Location: Hayes
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 DOE
Two Positions Available

We're recruiting for two experienced Air Import Coordinators to join an established freight forwarding operation in Hayes.

Both positions require strong air import and customs experience, with hands-on knowledge of customs clearance being essential.

Working Patterns

Monday-Friday Role

Monday-Friday
Occasional Saturday overtime, paid additionally4 on / 4 off Role

4 days on / 4 days off
7:00am-7:00pm

The Role:

You'll be responsible for managing air import shipments from pre-alert through to customs clearance and final delivery, working closely with customers, airlines, transport and internal operational teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

Completing day-to-day customs clearance, including pre-lodgements and T1s
Booking shipments from pre-alerts and ensuring all required information is available ahead of arrival
Monitoring shipment ETAs and keeping customers and internal teams updated on delays or changes
Managing ETSF records and associated paperwork
Monitoring a shared import inbox and responding to queries promptly
Identifying potential issues before they impact the shipment or delivery
Keeping customers informed of holds, examinations and any other potential delays
Ensuring all customs and shipment documentation is accurate and correctly filed
Arranging and coordinating collections from airlines with the transport team
Providing transport with the correct information and documentation to meet collection and delivery requirements
Liaising with customers and operational teams to ensure shipments progress smoothly
Handling queries and claims efficiently
Maintaining accurate internal systems and completing general administration
Supporting the transport operation where required, including monitoring vehicle movements

About You:

We're looking for someone with:

Previous experience in Air Import
Hands-on customs clearance experience - essential
Good knowledge of UK import procedures
Experience with pre-lodgements, T1s and/or ETSF would be advantageousThis is a great opportunity for an experienced Air Import Coordinator, Air Import Clerk or Customs/Freight Forwarding professional looking for a long-term position within an established operation.
