ALN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time - Cardiff (Further Education)
Days: Monday to Friday (Full-time)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent or Long-term
Support Role: 1:1 and small group support for learners with ALN in an FE setting
Are you a patient, proactive, and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting young people with additional learning needs?
A welcoming and inclusive FE college in Cardiff, in partnership with Empowering Learning Cardiff, is seeking a dedicated ALN Teaching Assistant to join their learner support department from September 2025. This full-time role provides a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting difference by supporting young adults (ages 16-25) with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
You'll work closely with lecturers, support teams, and ALN coordinators to provide in-class and out-of-classroom support that promotes independence, engagement, and academic progress. The role may involve assisting with coursework, supporting transitions, and helping manage behaviours in line with individual support plans.
What We're Looking For:
✅ Experience supporting learners with ALN/SEN (school, college, or care settings)
✅ A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach
✅ Ability to work flexibly across curriculum areas and learner needs
✅ Understanding of inclusive education and person-centred planning
✅ A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
