ALN Teaching Assistant - Cardiff & Surrounding Areas
Primary & Secondary Settings
We are seeking an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to join schools across Cardiff and nearby areas. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential in an inclusive classroom environment.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with ALN in both mainstream and specialist settings
Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions tailored to individual needs
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation, differentiated activities, and classroom management
Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning
Working closely with teachers and external professionals to implement support plans
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience supporting learners with ALN (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech & language needs)
A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3) or equivalent experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach to learning support
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
