Job Description

Analytical Chemist (2-year contract) Our client is on the hunt for a talented individual to join their dynamic team and contribute to the exciting world of analytical characterisation techniques, particularly chromatographic methods. If you have a passion for chemistry and a knack for problem-solving, this could be the perfect role for you! Key Responsibilities: Sample Preparation & Analysis: utilise chromatographic techniques such as GC and HPLC to prepare and analyse samples. Collaborative Communication: Present and discuss analytical results with relevant teams to ensure project objectives are met. Project Management: Plan, monitor, and control work in collaboration with team leaders while effectively communicating results to stakeholders. Customer Focus: Actively seek relevant information and discuss issues with colleagues across formulation, manufacturing, and synthetic chemistry departments. Creative Problem-Solving: Assess complex situations and generate original solutions to analytical challenges. What You'll Bring: A first degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject with significant analytical content. A PhD in analytical chemistry or relevant experience is a plus. Proven experience with analytical techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis, particularly GC and HPLC. Familiarity with GC-MS, LC-MS, and spectrophotometry is desirable, but not essential. Knowledge of extraction procedures and sample preparation technologies for agrochemicals or similar products. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences. Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and exceptional planning and multi-tasking abilities. Experience working effectively in cross-functional teams, solving common problems with varied methods.
