Job Description

Title: Analytical Chemist (Metals) Location: Cheshire West Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Term: Permanent SRG are currently working with a world leading supplier and manufacturer of speciality metal products. Recently, due to an influx of new business, that have decided to expand their analytical team and are now looking for an Analytical Chemist to join their Cheshire team on a permanent basis. This role will provide essential support to both manufacturing operations and product development activities on a daily basis. It would be suited to someone with a metallurgical analytical chemistry background with some previous experience with characterisation techniques. Benefits: Pension; Employer contribution 3%, increasing with length of service, 25 days annual leave, company bonus scheme, dental insurance, cycle to work scheme Role / Description Managing and supporting the analytical laboratory to deliver analytical services internally and to external clients Analytical techniques include Elemental Analysis (ICP-OES, LECO), Metallography (Optical Microscopy, SEM-EDX) and XRF Physical testing (e.g., particle size distribution, thickness measurements) Supporting in the validation of analytical methods Reporting data to a wide range of audiences including both technical and non-technical Analysing and reporting of results of analysis Supporting in the maintenance, troubleshooting and upkeep of analytical techniques Requirements Minimum BSc degree in Chemistry (or similar) Recent, proven background in elemental analysis and metallography Proactive and committed approach, with good communication and team-working skills Previous experience working under ISO 17025 would be desirable Driver's licence and access to a car - as site can be difficult to get to Full right to work in the UK SRG is the UK's number one recruitment company specialising in the scientific, engineering, clinical, pharmaceutical, food/FMCG, energy & renewables, biotech, chemical and medical device sectors.
