Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) or Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) to join our North of Tyne Out of Hours (OOH) GP Service, supporting urgent care delivery across multiple sites. This is a locum opportunity offering flexible weekday evening, overnight, and weekend shifts, with competitive hourly rates. Candidates must be able to see and treat patients of all ages, including palliative care cases, and be confident across triage, centre-based consultations, and home visits. A V300 Independent Prescribing qualification is essential, and a Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred (but strong applicants without one will be considered). All clinicians must be willing to work across most sites, commit to regular shifts where possible, and demonstrate reliability. Previous experience in OOH, urgent care, or GP practices is highly desirable. Mandatory paid training includes a Zoom induction, palliative care training at Vocare House, and a shadowing shift. Clinicians must also complete PaCCs training (Version 47) for system access (Adastra), and provide onboarding documents including a Smartcard number, NMC/HCPC pin, ID photo, car registration, proof of PaCCs completion, and full compliance pack. Logins can only be requested once all documentation and training are complete, and delays may occur without up-to-date compliance (e.g. expired indemnity or outdated references).
