Applications Engineer - Electrical & High Voltage 

Location: Manchester

SRG are currently recruiting for an Electrical/ Applications Engineer who combines strong technical fundamentals with the confidence to work directly with customers.

This role blends high‑voltage electrical engineering, testing programme design, data analysis and client-facing commercial interaction.

Key responsibilities:

Design and develop electrical test programmes for high‑voltage and high‑energy systems
Support and oversee testing activities within a high‑voltage / high‑energy test environment
Apply strong mathematical and analytical skills to interpret results and validate electrical performance
Use spreadsheets extensively for calculations, modelling, analysis and reporting
Act as a technical point of contact for customers, discussing requirements, applications and testing outcomes
Provide electrical technical support to clients, helping diagnose issues and recommend suitable solutions
Work closely with internal commercial and engineering teams, providing technical input and design sign‑off
Contribute to the development and improvement of electrical designs and testing methodologies. 

About you:

Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of high‑voltage electrical systems and power engineering principles
Comfortable with maths-heavy work and data-driven problem solving
Confident user of spreadsheets for engineering analysis
Personable and professional, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to clients
Commercially aware and comfortable balancing customer needs with sound engineering judgement
Organised, detail-focused and capable of taking ownership of technical work.
