Job Description
My client is a Top 50+50 firm of Accountants and a Top 50 Apprenticeship Employer, with over 300 team members across 16 offices in Devon and Somerset.
They are now seeking a Trainee Accounting Technician to join their Burnham-on-Sea team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is either brand new to accountancy (school leaver) or already part AAT qualified, looking to build a rewarding career within a supportive and professional firm.
Main Duties:
• Preparing financial information, reports, and returns
• Assisting with personal and company tax computations
• Preparing VAT returns and providing bookkeeping services
• Supporting the gathering and analysis of financial information to help clients make business decisions
• Using specialist software to record and manage financial transactions
• Combining practical, hands-on experience with study towards AAT Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications under an apprenticeship agreement
Attributes, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
• A solid academic record – strong GCSEs and/or A-levels (or equivalent). Other academic pathways will also be considered
• Enthusiasm, commitment, and a genuine interest in accountancy
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new IT systems
• Strong analytical, numerical, and methodical skills
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and initiative
• Professional, team-focused approach with strong communication skills
• Positive, personable, and adaptable attitude
Terms / Benefits:
• 36.25 hours per week (full-time)
• Fully funded AAT training with salary paid throughout study time
