Job Description
We are looking for Arboriculture Officer for a temp to perm position in Enfield area, to start in immediately.
Hours: 35 hours per week
Rate: £23.45/h
Successful candidate will join the team of arboriculture officers leading on the management and inspection of the Council’s tree stock.
The main purpose of the role:
* Carrying out risk management and providing specialist arboricultural advice.
* Responsible for issuing works to the Contractor and In-house tree service
* Completing wide range of duties that are not directly related to the technical area of arboriculture including: financial management, general administration, member’s enquiries, and contract management.
* Carrying out tree inspections, surveys, diagnosis of tree defects/diseases and specifying remedial works.
Experience / Requirements:
* Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, codes of practice and procedures relating to the management of housing, highway, parks and open spaces trees.
* Ability to implement asset management systems and processes relating to housing, highway, parks and open spaces trees, including effective risk-based inspections and maintenance operations.
* Capable in the use of housing, highway asset management systems and other IT systems in order to achieve the duties and responsibilities of this post;
* Ability to instruct and supervise arboricultural contractors and other specialists working on the housing, highway, parks and open spaces ensuring effective performance management and safe working practices.
* Ability to make decisions using own judgement, and to work independently when required.
* Experience of liaising with the public, Council Members, and third parties in order to ensure effective communication and resolution of any disputes or issues arising from the work.
* Experience of providing specialist arboricultural advice to both internal and external stakeholders, at a level commensurate with this post.
* Experience of preparing arboricultural advice and professional evidence in relation to third party insurance claims
