A well-established, design-led architectural practice based in Guildford is seeking a skilled and proactive Architectural Technologist to join its expanding team. This RIBA-chartered firm is recognised for delivering high-quality work across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, retail, and education. With a strong emphasis on technical excellence and innovation, the practice offers a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Role:
We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience in the retail sector, capable of confidently managing projects across all RIBA work stages. You'll be responsible for delivering technically sound and regulation-compliant solutions while liaising closely with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications in coordination with the wider design team
Manage and deliver projects from concept through to completion, including site coordination and client engagement
Ensure full compliance with current UK building regulations and industry best practices
Conduct regular site visits to oversee progress and maintain design integrity
Support planning submissions and building control documentation
Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and external consultants
Requirements:
Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology
Strong technical expertise in UK building regulations, detailing, and materials
Proven experience delivering retail projects, ideally within a UK-based architectural practice
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork capabilities, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
High proficiency in Revit (essential)Before You Apply
