Architectural Technologist
Location: West Midlands (Shrewsbury or Birmingham office location)
Salary: £30-40,000 DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Architectural Technologist to join a dynamic and creative team working across our Birmingham and Shrewsbury studios. Develop detailed technical designs and construction packages aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work
Produce high-quality technical drawings, specifications, and reports
Ensure all design solutions are compliant with current UK Building Regulations and relevant legislation
Coordinate technical information and manage statutory submissions (Building Regs, Planning, etc.)
Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical issues and deliver seamless project outcomes
Advise on materials, buildability, and sustainable construction techniques
Maintain project documentation and contribute to risk assessments and document control
Support project delivery from early technical design stages through to construction and handoverIdeal Candidate:
CIAT-qualified or working towards Chartered Membership
Proven experience in technical design and construction detailing across multiple sectors
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and construction methodology
Proficiency in Revit is essential; knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite is advantageous
Confident communicator and team player with a detail-focused mindset
Demonstrates commercial awareness and a problem-solving attitude
Committed to continuous learning and ongoing professional development
