Job Description

Responsible for visiting buildings across the borough undertaking inspections – sourcing compliance documentation – meeting clients- following up on repair requests – using electronic systems Location/nearest travel links – Work base will be Tooley Street (London Bridge) Working patterns/WFH options – Mon – Fri 9am -5pm . one day WFH Any additional requirements – Familiar with Lone Working PURPOSE OF THE JOB Deliver the agreed FM services to an allocated departmental portfolio of operational buildings to ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory legislation, to provide staff an optimum working environment that fully supports the council’s modern ways of working. Provide efficient, effective and economic advice and support acting as the intelligent client to the non-housing Council estate within the corporate facilities management (CFM) operational property portfolio. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Responsibilities 1.Proactively engage with customers at all levels within the council to understand and interpret their short, medium and long term business needs in a timely and efficient manner ensuring CFM departmental policies and procedures are fully adhered to and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) are maintained.Ensure that all Health and Safety regulations, statutory legislation and council policies are adhered to by corporate facilities management staff and support contractors while working on or in Council property 2.Respond to emergency or urgent property management issues when escalated by the Area Facilities Officers, seeking to resolve them as quickly and as cost effectively as possible 3.Ensure the site based emergency procedures manual follows the same principles as the Tooley Street model and covers; fire, bomb, flood, suspicious package, lift entrapment and utility failure, in relation to the designated operational buildings 4.Ensure that the FM operations manager is regularly briefed on performance, operational building compliance, works or repair progress and given timely advice and updates on options and their implementation 5.Specify and commission repair, maintenance and improvement works on behalf of the head of FM operations and the FM operations managers up to an appropriate budget level 6.Lead on the implementation of all Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to provide an optimum working environment as agreed with departmental clients 7.Deliver and support all site-based customer/client related facilities management services to ensure that staff are adequately accommodated and supplied to meet their business needs in line with financial & departmental policy.Responsible for premises management in operational buildings and ensuring that they are maintained to a safe secure working environment for both staff and visitors 8.Monitor and control delegated budgets up to a value of £250k and provide analysis on spend profiles by liaising with the FM operations manager and the cfm business finance manager. Knowledge, including educational qualifications: Knowledge of operational facilities management Knowledge and experience of mandatory and statutory building compliance (Fire, Water Hygiene, Asbestos etc) with IOSH qualification or equivalent Experience: Substantial experience of building customer relationships in a large multi-site blue chip or government organisation Experience of working in a large total facilities management department, carrying out site visit audits and writing operational reports Area Facilities Officer Area Facilities Officer Area Facilities Officer Area Facilities Officer Area Facilities Officer Area Facilities Officer Area Facilities Officer Area Facilities Officer
