Cloud 9 are partnering with a well-established packaging manufacturer that supplies into high-volume food sectors across the UK. Due to continued growth, they're now looking for a driven Business Development / Area Sales Manager to strengthen their presence across a key territory the Southeast.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands the fast-paced world of food packaging and enjoys building long-term commercial relationships.
The Role
As an Area Sales Manager, you'll take ownership of a defined region, developing new opportunities while nurturing an existing customer base. You'll be the face of the business in your area, working closely with customers to understand their operational challenges and propose the right packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Grow regional sales performance by developing and executing a clear commercial strategy.
* Proactively identify, engage and convert new customers across food manufacturing, retail, quick-serve and similar high-throughput environments.
* Strengthen relationships with existing accounts, enhancing value and spotting new opportunities.
* Deliver professional presentations, site visits and product demonstrations to support customer decision-making.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams across technical, marketing and customer service to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Keep up to date with market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to guide sales strategy.
* Manage the full sales cycle using CRM tools - from prospecting to onboarding and ongoing account management.
* Prepare accurate sales reports, forecasts and insights to support business planning.
* Represent the business at sector events, exhibitions and networking opportunities to build brand visibility.
About You
* Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within packaging, food production, FMCG or a related industry, experience of supplying the Bakery sector will be a distinctive advantage.
* Strong commercial instinct and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
* Confident communicator and negotiator, able to present value-led solutions.
* Self-motivated, structured and able to manage a field-based role with autonomy.
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing customer needs.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within your region.
